Virgin Australia to continue Samoa service

Virgin Australia has confirmed it will continue its service to Samoa, once a joint-venture with the Samoa government ends.

The airline will take over from 13 November, one day after the decade-long Virgin Samoa joint-venture ends.

Subject to approval from the Samoa government, Virgin Australia will operate five flights a week between Auckland and Apia, two a week from Sydney and another two from Brisbane.

In May, Samoa's prime minister, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, said the venture was in part ended because of complaints about Virgin's service and fares.
