Police investigating the deaths of a pastor and a church woman in a car

Apia, SAMOA — Police are investigating the deaths of a church pastor and a woman whose bodies were found inside a grey Nissan Cube car at the Faleata sports complex Wednesday morning.

The car was parked opposite the United Nations Headquarters at Tuana’imato.

Talamua sources confirm the man is a pastor of the Assembly of God Church at Falelauniu and the woman is the church’s Treasurer.

Police said they were alerted by the Fire Service Patrol last night that found the car suspicious because it had been parked at the area well past midnight.

The Fire Emergency Services approached the vehicle and after knocking on the car window and without a response, called the police.

The police then cracked the car windows and found both deceased on the back seat of the car.

Police said the car doors were child locked and the car keys were found inside the car.
