Hundreds gather for ‘Aquaman’ screening, where the guest of honor is Jason Momoa himself

Scores of Polynesian dancers welcome Momoa

Honolulu, Hawaii — Hundreds of fans gathered in Kakaako on Friday for a special “Aquaman” screening with the movie’s star — Hawaii’s own Jason Momoa.

At Ward Theatres, Momoa was greeted by a scores of Polynesian dancers — a welcome that left Momoa in tears.

“It’s unbelievable,” he said. “I’m so choked up. It’s a big honor.”

Momoa also performed a haka for the crowd, nearly losing his voice in the process.

The event featured a private screening for dozens of fans.

The VIP tickets were auctioned off as a benefit for the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii.

And they sold for well over the starting bid of $250.
