Father and son charged with meth banished from Samoa village

Apia, SAMOA — The Samoa Observer is reporting a father and son jointly charged with possession of methamphetamine have been banished from their village of residence, the Supreme Court in Mulinuu was told.

Samuelu Bruce and his son Aleta Bruce appeared before the Supreme Court Justice, Fepuleai Ameperosa Roma on Monday this week. 

The prosecutor from the Office of the Attorney General’s Office is Timothy Fesili while the men do not have any legal representation yet.

The father and son had applied for legal aid but approval is pending due to the application not being signed. 

During the proceeding, the wife of Samuelu Bruce and mother of Aleta Bruce pleaded to the Court to have her husband and son released. 

She said their family had been banished from Maagiagi and are now living in Tuanai.
