ASCC celebrates its graduates during 83rd Commencement Ceremony

KANANA FOU, American Samoa — (December 15, 2025)  The American Samoa Community College proudly celebrated its 83rd Commencement Ceremony for the Fall 2025 semester on December 12 at the CCCAS Taeaoafua Gymnasium in Kanana Fou. A milestone that celebrated tradition, inspiration, and community pride.

The ceremony was attended by Governor Pulaali’i Nikolao Pula and First Lady Dr. Lois Pula, who joined ASCC President Dr. Rosevonne Pato, the administration, board members, faculty, staff, families, and friends in honoring the graduates. Their presence brought distinction to the collective commitment to education as the foundation of progress for American Samoa.

The ceremony opened with an invocation by Rev. Peter Schuster, whose spiritual message provided grounding and encouragement for all in attendance. On behalf of ASCC, Dr. Rosevonne Pato offered her remarks, celebrating the resilience and achievements of the graduating class.

Governor Pulaali’i delivered remarks, urging graduates to let love be their guiding aim in every step beyond this milestone. He reminded the audience that “your gift to this world is your service and the good work you’ll do from here on out,” a message that resonated deeply with graduates and guests alike.

The keynote speaker, Ammon Fepulea‘i, an ASCC alumnus and now Executive Director of the Arts Council and Humanities, delivered a stirring address that electrified the ceremony. He spoke of the power of planning wisely, creating opportunities, loving the community, making families proud, and never losing the hunger to work harder and give back. Ammon’s words left graduates inspired to embrace their roles as leaders and contributors to the island’s future.

Graduates were then recognized and presented with their diplomas and degrees. Special honors were given to Honor Students, ASG Scholarship Recipients, Bachelor’s Scholars, Master’s Degree Graduates, and notably, the ceremony celebrated the achievement of the sole Doctorate recipient, marking a historic highlight of the ceremony.

The Fall 2025 commencement celebrated the academic success while reinforcing ASCC’s mission to nurture leaders who serve with love, determination, and dedication.
