Father claims son damaged their home after breaking the peace on Sunday

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — On May 18, 2025, a father contacted the Fagatogo Police Station and requested assistance regarding his son who allegedly damaged their home property after being told not to mow the lawn on Sunday.

The suspect was later arrested and charged with:

Count 1: Private Peace Disturbance (DV), a class C misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to fifteen days, a fine of $300, or both imprisonment and fine;

Count 2: Property Damage in the Third Degree (DV), a class B misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to six months, a fine of $500, or both; and,

Count 3: Resisting Arrest, a class A misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to one year, a fine of $1,000, or both.

There was no set bail for the defendant.

According to the court affidavit, on May 18th, a man (reporter/victim) called the FPS and reported that his son, Anthony Noa (suspect) was allegedly causing a disturbance at their home.

The victim alleged that the suspect disobeyed him and then damaged his home property.

Police officers responded to the call and on their way, they saw the suspect walking along the main road near their village. Authorities approached the suspect but he refused to comply. The suspect was immediately apprehended where he resisted arrest but was eventually placed inside the police unit.

Upon arrival at the scene, the officers approached the victim for a statement. The victim verbally stated that he had asked his son to stop mowing the lawn because it was Sunday. However, Anthony refused to listen and started causing a disturbance and allegedly damaged their home property, so he contacted the police for assistance immediately.

Anthony Noa was later transported to the Leone Police Substation and agreed to answer questions.

He was later booked and confined at the Tafuna Correctional Facility to await the next available sitting of the District Court.

The defendant is identified as a 26-year-old U.S National.
