Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Governor Pulaali’i Nikolao Pula joined ASCC in celebrating the 82nd Commencement ceremony for 71 Spring graduates on Friday, May 16th, at the Kanana Fou Taeaoafua Hall. The presiding faifeau for the ceremony was the Most Reverend Kolio Tuimanuvao Etuale, Bishop of the Diocese of Samoa- Pago Pago.
Speaking before a packed event comprising the territory’s leaders, which included Congresswoman Uifa’atali Aumua Amata, proud families and friends, as well as the graduates, the Governor urged graduates to continue seeking knowledge, emphasizing that "there is no limit to education. Through lifelong learning and collective efforts, true wisdom and meaningful impact are achieved."
In a heartfelt conclusion, the governor shared words from his late father, who once addressed a graduating class in 1974: "No matter where you go or whatever you do in your future, always remember who you are, and where you are from. You are children of American Samoa."
Congresswoman Uifa’atali Aumua Amata who greeted the newly minted graduates offered her “warmest congratulations to each graduate in the several collegiate programs, and congratulations also to each proud parent or mentor!
“To our graduates, as you start your next steps, keep your faith strong — that’s what we Sāmoans do!” continued Uifa’atali. “As you go forward, you have all you need most in your family right here, and your values, and our Samoan way — respect for others, kindness, decency, and prayer. So pray through your upcoming decisions, and have wonderful lives!”
