Trump sweeps American Samoa's Republican caucus — 100%

caucus map

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Former President Donald Trump swept American Samoa's Republican caucus, securing 100 percent of the vote and nine delegates, according to NBC News and CNN.

This past Friday's election marked the first nominating contest for Republicans since Nikki Haley withdrew from the race after Super Tuesday. Am. Samoa had garnered attention earlier last week when Jason Palmer unexpectedly tied with President Joe Biden with three delegates each.

The Republican caucus— all 110 of its voters — unanimously favored Trump. The result underscores the entrenched support for the former president within the Republican Party, as well as among American Samoa’s Republicans.
