79th anniversary of D-Day photo & caption

On June 6, the world marks the 79th anniversary of D-Day, when Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy. Also, June 4-7 marks the 81st anniversary of the Battle of Midway, known as a major turning point for the war in the Pacific. Uifa’atali Amata said, “The D-Day invasion in Normandy was an immense logistical undertaking that began pushing back the Nazi forces occupying western Europe to eventually liberate Europe.”
