Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — In a customer advisory dated May 2, Hambug Süd announced that effective May 27, 2023, the shipping company will be withdrawing its South Seas service.
“We have served this lane proudly for many years and are grateful to our customers for the years we have worked together. As part of our exit from this trade, we will be terminating our vessel sharing agreement with Swire Shipping.
“We are committed to working with you to avoid any disruption to your business and you will be able to secure future container shipping services on the South Seas Service through Swire Shipping,” the advisory read.
“We are confident that Swire Shipping will continue to provide you the personalized, dependable services you rely on for your shipping needs. Swire has demonstrated a strong commitment to serving its customers in the Asia-Pacific region for more than 150 years.”

- For services from the U.S. west coast the last departure customers can book with Hamburg Süd is the sailing of the “Cap Salia,” Voyage 982sb, with Long Beach, CA EDT May 22, 2023, and Oakland ETD May 25, 2023
- For service out of the territory, the last departure is the “Cap Salia,” Voyage 982nb, sailing from Pago Pago, American Samoa on June 13, 2023.
