Garbage truck crash into rock wall causes minor injuries

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — A Pentagon garbage truck crashed into a rock wall across from the Seventh Day Adventist School in Ili’ili early Wednesday morning, landing three men in the hospital. This was confirmed by Emergency Medical Services  Chief, Galumalemana Popo Avegalio in response to questions from Samoa News.

He said the garbage truck was heading east side, when the incident occurred.

“The driver of the truck is believed to have fallen asleep at the wheel.

“The man that stood at the back of the truck suffered injuries, along with the passenger and driver, but all minor injuries,” said Galuemalemana.

He said luckily it happened before the students started to arrive at the school.
