Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The government owned Territorial Bank of American Samoa has received the coin order that was announced last month.
Therefore the bank has scheduled a designated merchant coin distribution pick up date and time for today, Friday, Dec. 09 at the Centennial Branch in Utulei from 9a.m to 5p.m.
In a statement yesterday, the bank explained that the coin distribution is for merchants that submitted a coin order form to the bank.
And if coin order form was not submitted to the bank, the merchant will not be eligible to receive coins during this distribution.
TBAS received 95 merchant coin orders, totaling more than $600,000 in value. The shipment received totaled less than half of requested amount. All 95 merchants that placed an order will receive coins, but only to an amount the bank is able to fill.
Due to the weight of coin, merchants are advised to make necessary arrangements to transport the coins from the bank to their respective store locations.
“Territorial Bank thanks you for your patience as we work to replenish the Territory’s supply of coin,” the statement says.
