Unofficial vote count not finalized until early today in Am Samoa

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Results for two out of seventeen Representative Districts in yesterday’s 2022 Mid Term Election were not called until this morning — when they were announced on the government-owned television station.

Representative District #12 - Ituau at the Nu’uuli polling station, was delayed due to a recount. And this is the same for Representative District #13 - Fofo.

While the unofficial results from the other 15-districts were aired on state-run KVZK-TV throughout the wee-hours into this morning, the Election Office did not release any information concerning Ituau and Fofo districts until this morning — info comprised the Congressional and local House of Representatives races as well as the eleven proposed amendments to the Constitution.

There has been no official word released by the Election Office explaining the “recounts”.

The vote summaries — the unofficial written results — released by the Election Office, including the 11 amendments to the Constitution will be published soon.
