Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Governor Lemanu has formally nominated Tauanuu Semu Faisiota Taunuu as Director for the American Samoa Corrections Agency. Lemanu pointed out Director Tauanuu’s years of military service include experience with safety, security, and intelligence.
“His civilian career includes airport security and property management for our House of Representatives. Director Tauanuu’s background and experience make him an ideal leader of the Corrections Agency. Although this agency is created by Executive Order and confirmation is not required, I value the added credibility legislative approval would provide Director Tauanuu,” said Lemanu.
FAAMASINO GALOIA AS DIRECTOR OF ASSRA
Governor Lemanu submitted Faamasino Upuese Galoia to the Legislature as Director of the American Samoa Search and Rescue Agency. I submit Director Galoia to the Legislature for confirmation.
“Director Galoia’s years of military service highlight his skills in leadership, critical and analytical thinking, and problem-solving.
“He has been and continues to be entrusted with equipment valued at millions of dollars as well as professional development and safety of hundreds of people, our most valuable resource.
“His background and experience make him an ideal leader of the Search and Rescue Agency.
“Although this agency is created by Executive Order and confirmation is not required, I value the added credibility [that] legislative approval would provide Director Galoia.”
AARON HALL APPOINTED DIRECTOR FOR KVZK-TV
A resolution confirms the Governor’s appointment of Aaron Hall as Director for the Office of Public Information.
In a letter dated August 19, 2022, to the Senate President Tuaolo Manaia Fruean and Governor Lemanu P. Sialega Mauga, submitted Aaron Hall to the Legislature, for confirmation as the Director of the Office of Public Information.
The Resolution says that Mr Hall has more than 7 years’ experience in media/digital broadcast and 12 years of management experience. “He served as Deputy Director of the Office of Public Information beginning in 2021 and currently serves as Acting Director. Prior to that, he was CEO of his own Media company. In all these roles he has embraced new technologies and demonstrated innovation.”
Hall has already been approved by the House of Representatives.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR PUBLIC LIBRARY
Governor Lemanu nominated Christian Ausage as a member of the Public Library Board.
In his letter to Senate President Tuaolo, he pointed out that Christian Ausage has demonstrated his commitment to education and cultural knowledge and preservation through nearly three decades of teaching from elementary to college level students.
“He is a well-known businessman in the private sector. His background and experience make him an ideal member of the public library board. Respectfully, I urge you and your colleagues to review and confirm the nominating of Christian Ausage to the public library board,” said Lemanu.
