Saute Sapolu making the best of things photo & caption

Saute Sapolu has become a controversial cultural figure as he resides in his car and a minimalist structure in the parking lot of Maunalua Bay in Hawaii Kai, Hawaii.  Previously the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources confiscated Saute's personal belongings and self made Fale.  Saute has apperared in court with the matter proceeding but as yet unresolved.   [Photo by Barry Markowitz 7/27/22]
