Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — DataHouse Consulting Inc., Hawaii’s largest and longest-standing IT systems integrator, is announcing the grand opening of its new location in American Samoa. The celebration was held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, 9-11 at the Tafuna Industrial Park.
The ceremony began with a blessing and opening prayer, then DataHouse’s President, Edward Ontai, shared his excitement about bringing technology jobs to the American Samoa community. The American Samoa Governor’s Office also spoke enthusiastically about the potential that technology provides for the community’s future.
“We’re so excited for this expansion of our business,” said Edward Ontai, President of DataHouse. “American Samoa has so many cultural and historical ties with Hawaii, and its strategic location as a near-shore operations center supports our global expansion.”
“We’re happy that DataHouse has decided to set up a physical office here in the Territory and will help create tech jobs for our local people,” said Lt. Governor Talauega E. V. Ale. “We congratulate Eddie and his team for today’s opening of their business in American Samoa.”
DataHouse’s American Samoa location will play a key role in moving the company closer to its vision as a top-tier global system integrator becoming a tech hub between east and west. The operations currently provide system support to assist customers with questions and troubleshoot technical problems. The new office employs local American Samoa residents and provides a means for technology-related career development for the community.
Following the grand opening, DataHouse will host a job fair for American Samoa jobseekers on July 30, 2022, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Candidates can learn more about the company and submit resumes for local technology jobs.
DataHouse has worked closely with the American Samoa Government since 2021.
At the COVID-19 pandemic’s peak, the American Samoa Government turned to DataHouse to design, develop, implement, and support TALOFAPASS, the technology platform that enables travelers to comply with American Samoa’s policies. DataHouse continues to modify and support TALOFAPASS and brings personalized service and IT workforce development through the new Tafuna location.
