Daughter of American Samoa graduates from basic training

San Antonio, TEXAS — Kathlynn Faaita successfully graduated from Air Force Basic Military Training on May 6 in Lackland AFB, San Antonio Texas.

BMT is 7-1/2 weeks of training that entails military drill and ceremony, Air Force history, physical fitness and testing as well as Basic Expeditionary Airman Skills Training.

Kathlynn will continue her training as a Security Force Officer (Military Police). She is a 2020 graduate of Tafuna High School.

Her proud parents are Joseph and Margie Faaita of Leone Village. Kathlynn’s older brother Darias who also serves in the Air Force is currently stationed overseas in South Korea.
