Three Samoa police officers suspended over drug trade investigation

Apia, SAMOA — Three police officers in the rank of Corporal have been suspended and one has resigned over the current police investigation into alleged officer’s involvement in the illegal drugs trade.

The Acting Commissioner, Afamasaga Samuelu Afamasaga confirmed with Talamua the suspension and at least 23 police officers are under investigation for their alleged connection and the number is expected to rise.

The officers investigated rank from Senior Sargent, to Sargent and corporals.
