Gov names new nominees for the Retirement Fund board

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Gov. Lemanu Peleti Mauga has submitted to the Fono a list of three first time nominees for the Retirement Fund Board of Trustees. They’re HTC Malemo L. Tausaga, Tuimavave Tauapa’i Laupola and Lisa Peau.

Lemanu told Fono leaders in a Jan. 24, 2022 letter that after reviewing the recommendation of the ASG Employees Retirement Fund (ASGERF) Board Chairman to reappointed the members of the board whose terms had expired, the governor instead appointed new members to serve on the board who are all long-time members of the retirement fund.

“Respectfully, I urge you and your colleagues to review and consider the nominations of these individuals to the ASGERF Board of Trustees,” Lemanu said.
