DPS traffic division family Fun Day makes up for lost time

Traffic officers and their families at Fun Day

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — This past Saturday the Department of Public Safety (DPS) Traffic Division enjoyed a family fun day with their loved ones to make up for time lost during the holidays as they were unable to spend quality time with their families due to manning the sobriety checkpoints that went on for three weeks in December to the New Year, Jan. 1, 2022, according to Captain Filemoni Amituanai of the DPS Traffic Division.

The event was planned for families — and their friends — with a BBQ and entertainment for all — water slides, hydro bikes, kayaks, and fun games, including giveaways and a raffles throughout the day at Fagaalu Park.

Captain Amuituanai said that they were fortunate to have Blueksy, ASTCA, and the Office of Highway Safety as sponsors for their giveaway gift bags and gift certificates for the raffle. He noted it was a successful day — with so many families and friends of the police officers coming out for a great time.
