Vaccine for children ages 5- 11 received, vaccinations start again

COVID-19 vaccine viles

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — THE Health Department says it received over the weekend a new shipment of COVID-19 vaccines for children ages 5 to 11 years old, and is providing COVID-19 vaccines Monday through Thursday this week.

DoH suspended late last week vaccination shots for this age group due to a delay in shipment arrival and overwhelming response from parents getting this age group vaccinated.

In a health advisory yesterday, DoH said all its COVID-19 sites would be closed on Christmas Eve, Friday, Dec. 24th.

For today, Tuesday, Dec. 21st, two vaccination sites will be open from 8a.m. to 12p.m - DYWA gym in Tafuna and DoH Tafuna Prenatal Clinic. Tomorrow, Dec. 22, six sites will operate from 8a.m. to 2p.m. - DYWA in Pago Pago, DYWA in Tafuna, Fagaalu Well Baby Clinic, Tafuna Prenatal Clinic, Manumalo gym, and Tuana’itau Guest House in Pavaiai.

On Thursday, Dec. 23, four sites will open from 8a.m. to 2p.m. - DYWA gym in Tafuna, Tafuna Prenatal Clinic, Manumalo gym and Tuana’itau Guest House in Pavaiai.
