Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — In their efforts in “Restoring the Roar”, Leone High School’s Football Head Coach Duke Elisaia and his coaching staff have invited various Leone alumni to share a message that would resonate with the young Lions as they prepare for this new school year and season, according to information posted with the photo. And one of them was Mrs. Marian McGuire Ale, a Class of 1998 alumna and last week’s special guest.
Mrs. Ale highlighted the importance of balancing a healthy mind and being a student-athlete. She acknowledged the challenge of balancing full-time academic commitments with the demands of sports, which can be a physical and mental strain.
“The ability to play your best at every game relies on how you use your mind to allow your body to function fluently and with agility. Your mind is the greatest tool on the field. You cannot be your best, if you do not have the right mindset,” she explained.
