Summer Band Institute a step in bringing marching bands back

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA —  Strike up the band!  Participants in the “Summer Band Institute” organized by the ASDOE Office of Curriculum and Instruction are making music. The institute was held June 28 to July 15 and participants, who completed the course, were awarded a Certificate of Completion.

Gov. Lemanu Peleti Mauga in his 2021 Flag Day address spoke of his initiative to revive marching bands in the community through a program in schools and churches.

Some of the participants of the Summer Band Institute organized by the ASDOE Office of Curriculum and Instruction held June 28 to July 15.
