Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Residents of the Ottoville area were without electricity this past Sunday night and American Samoa Power Authority executive director Wallon Young told Samoa News on Monday afternoon that this was a “partial outage on Feeder-7 that affected the Ottoville area” only.

The reason for the outage is that ASPA “lineman had to de-energize the primary line to Ottoville to repair a broken jumper wire,” he said, adding that the outage time was from 10:10p.m. to 10:37p.m.

ASPA had posted to its Facebook page update on the outage on Sunday night saying that crews were fixing a power line by the Tumu’s apartment complex that went out around 8pm.

“The emergency outage was needed repair the line and to allow crews to work safely in the dark to do repairs,” said ASPA, which apologized for the emergency power outage in the Ottoville area.
