Some of His heralds, "Waving a branch of the palm tree ..."

Palm Sunday procession

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA —  Leading the procession of worshipers on a cloudy Palm Sunday, from Saint Joseph Community Malae, to the Holy Family Parish Cathedral for a combined Mass at Fatuoaiga. Prior to the procession, made up of more than 200 parishioners, there were morning prayers and blessing of the palms at the Saint Joseph Community marking the day that Jesus entered into Jerusalem, an event mentioned in the Bible.

A procession of worshipers and Palm Sunday Mass was also carried out by other Catholic churches in the territory. Other Christian denominations in the territory also focused their service on the importance of Palm Sunday.

Into the city I’d follow the children’s band,
Waving a branch of the palm tree high in my hand;
One of His heralds, yes, I would sing
Loudest hosannas, “Jesus is King!”
