Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — In a memorandum earlier this month, Gov. Lemanu Peleti Palepoi Sialega Mauga appointed Tuimalo Elvis Pau’u Zodiacal as executive director of the Historic Preservation Office — which is part of the Governor’s Office — and the Historic Preservation Officer for the American Samoa Government. And he has full authority to lead the Historic Preservation Office.

“The Historic Preservation Office plays a role ensuring our history is accurately documented and that our cultural values and traditions are preserved,” the governor said. “Tuimalo’s credentials and extensive years of experience make him well suited for this role.”

Tuimalo was among the newly confirmed members to the Feleti Barstow Public Library board of directors by the Senate, while confirmation is pending in the House.
