Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Hawaiian Airlines says it will not operate an additional flight this weekend to accommodate passengers between Honolulu and Pago Pago who were displaced after the Thursday night flight - Feb. 20 - was cancelled due to severe weather conditions in American Samoa at the time.

Instead, guests affected by the cancelled flight on Thursday have been re-accommodated on Hawaiian’s scheduled flights on Monday, Feb 24th and Thursday, Feb. 27th, according to Tuli S. Fruean, the airline’s Pago Pago station manager.

“Accommodations have been handled by our reservations Office and should there be any questions, please refer to (800) 367-5320,” Fruean said Saturday afternoon.

Last Thursday’s flight was cancelled as American Samoa prepared for another  storm, Tropical Storm Wasi, which by late Saturday morning was breaking up and continued to move south and away from American Samoa by afternoon.

“Our local team members are tending to their homes and family, we will operate our normal scheduled flights” Feb. 24th and Feb. 27th, said Fruean in a public notice to the media and local officials.
