Local businesswoman jailed for the weekend

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The court sentenced last week, Tulagafou Nofoagatoto’a to 12 months probation.

The owner of Le Fofo Spa and Island Business Center was also ordered to pay a $300 fine and court costs of $120.34

In addition, Nofoagatoto’a was to spend the weekend at the Territorial Correctional Facility (TCF) for 48 hours, commencing last Friday at 6p.m. She was to be released yesterday, at 6 pm.

Nofoagatoto’a was initially charged with disturbing the peace and third degree assault. The PPD charge was dismissed earlier this month following a jury trial and she was found guilty of third degree assault.
