Murder suspect arrested in California, extradited to Honolulu

Honolulu, HAWAII — An Oahu man wanted in connection with a shooting that killed a man in Chinatown last year has been arrested in California.

Tiseya Puapuaga was taken into custody Wednesday in Elk Grove, CA, and was extradited back to Honolulu.

Puapuaga was featured in Hawaii's Most Wanted in October 2018. According to police, Puapuaga shot the victim multiple times with a handgun in September, in front of the Maunakea Liquor Store.

Puapuaga's bail has been set at $1 million. He's scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 22.
