Man charged for throwing pig at Samoan PM

Bisbane, AUSTRALIA — A 41-year-old man has been charged with public nuisance over an incident involving the Samoan Prime Minister at an Australian church.

Earlier this month, a group of people arrived at the church, south of Brisbane, and tried to disrupt the gathering, local police said.

It is alleged a man yelled abuse at Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi before throwing meat and eggs.

TV1 Samoa reported a pigs head and a plastic bag containing raw meat, eggs and rocks with threatening messages written on them were thrown at Tuilaepa.

Tuilaepa, who was unharmed, had been speaking about Samoa Airways flights between Brisbane and Apia.

The arrested man is due to appear in court on December 10.
