Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The case against a Sports Complex employee accused of defrauding the Workmen’s Compensation Fund of over $100,000 is going to trial.

Angela Monica Langkilde is facing one count of criminal fraud and she was scheduled for a pretrial conference in High Court yesterday morning; however she was not present when her case was called in court, as her attorney informed the court that while the government has turned all discovery — along with a plea offer — over to them, upon review, his client has opted to go to trial.

She is represented by private attorney Richard deSaulles of RDA Law Firm, while prosecuting the case is Assistant Attorney General Laura Garvey.

Presiding was Acting Associate Justice Elvis P. Patea, who set trial for Sept. 19, 2019.

Langkilde is out on a $100,000 surety bond.
