The 2018 Polynesian Games held this past week in Tahiti (Nov. 23-24), saw Shot Putter Patria Vaimaona take gold and sprinter Nainoa Thompson win gold in the men's 400m. On Day 2, Vaimaona again won gold — this time in the discus, while Thompson won bronze in the 200m. Vaimaona was also selected as Female Athlete of the Games.
