American Samoa officials hunting laser beam culprits

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The Department of Homeland Security is following up leads after laser beams were trained on the cockpit of the Hawaiian Airlines flight during a flight from Honolulu to Pago Pago last Thursday.

The Director of Homeland Security Samana Semo Ve'ave'a said based on information from the captain, the laser beams came from the direction of Malaeloa.

It is the third laser beam incident to have occurred in the territory but they have yet to find those responsible.

The Department of Homeland Security has been asking people with information about the incidents to contact them or the police.
