Working at ASEPA: Summer youth employees share with KSBS listeners

[l-r] Vaitupua Maina, Tumua Lokeni and Ilaiakimi Atu

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Vaitupua  Maina and Ilaiakimi Atu — both 16-years old — are two of the 12 students working at ASEPA under the Governor’s Summer Youth Employment Program. The two students shared with KSBS listeners yesterday why they choose to work at ASEPA. They were interviewed on the ASEPA weekly radio program, which covers a wide range of EPA issues.

Maina also told listeners about the trash collected by the ASEPA employees during last Friday’s government sponsored Island-Wide Clean up, in which each ASG agency was assigned a designated area to clean up.

Among trash-items collected by ASEPA — and read on-air — were clothing, car tires, cigarette butts, plastic bottles, plastic bags and so forth.
