Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — StarKist Samoa continues its annual support for American Samoa’s Flag Day preparations, maintaining a longstanding commitment to the territory’s most celebrated cultural event. On Monday, April 7, 2025 StarKist Samoa presented a donation of $10,000 and 300 cases of tuna and wahoo to support preparations for American Samoa’s 125th Flag Day celebration.
The donation was made to the ASG Flag Day Committee at the Office of Samoan Affairs. The presentation was made by officials of StarKist, led by General Manager Injoo Ha (front row, center). On hand to receive the donation were members of the Flag Day Committee and Office of Samoan Affairs led by Secretary of Samoan Affairs and Committee Co-chair Faiivae Alex Godinet Iuli (front row, third from right). Faiivae expressed his gratitude to StarKist for its continued support of Flag Day preparations, wishing the cannery ongoing success in its operations.
Governor Pulaalii Nikolao Pula has officially declared April 16–18 as government holidays: April 16–17 for Flag Day celebrations, and April 18 in observance of Good Friday.
