Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Beverly Annesley Canales, 5, a member of Samoa Baptist Academy’s K-4 class looking elegant in her taupou attire during the school’s Samoan Day, an event promoting the importance of the Samoan culture by showcasing beautiful Samoan attire and the performance of Samoan dances (siva) at the Methodist Hall in Ottoville on Friday, May 5, 2023.
NANA Company owner Mrs. Fiapaipai Fruean spoke at the Samoa Baptist Academy’s Samoan Day, following the taualuga for her granddaughter Amari Fruean’s K-4 class, Mrs. Fruean donated $10,000 to the school.
She encouraged parents to donate for their children. She said when we die, we leave all possessions such as money on earth and there is no better cause than to invest in our children.
Of interest: the Methodist Hall in Tafuna was built by the NANA Company and officially opened last year. It features a well laid-out paved parking area that handles big events such as the Samoa Baptist Academy’s Samoan Day and the large hall that accommodates cool cross-breezes made for an enjoyable gathering last Friday.
