Rugby ‘family’ donates to Hope House

HOPE HOUSE DONATION GROUP

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Etuale Manusamoa Tuilagi, affectionately known as Manu Tuilagi, who is a rugby union player for the Sale Sharks and has played internationally for England and the British & Irish Lions, paid a visit to the Hope House Residential Care Facility in Fatu-O-Aiga and made a hefty donation of $10,000 to assist with the caring of elderly citizens being cared for at Hope House.

Born in Fogapoa, Samoa, Tuilagi has five older brothers who played for Samoa’s national rugby team.

Frances J. Saelua-Togia, a Registered Nurse at Hope House and Bishop Kolio Tumanuvao Etuale (Fa'aao o le Ekalesia Samoa i Pago) were in attendance, along with the residents, for the presentation of the donation from the Tuilagi brothers Manu and Anetere’a along with their uncle, Mr. Ilalio Mulipola.

Administrator Toleafoa Kathryn McCutchan and Board Chairman Senator Larry Sanitoa, who each are currently off-island expressed thankfulness and gratitude to the Tuilagi brothers and accepted the donation on behalf of the Diocese and Hope House Board.

Hope House faculty and staff would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Manusamoa Tuilagi and his brother Anetere'a along with their uncle Mr. Ilalio Mulipola who visited Hope House last week Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

RN Francis Togia said, “We are very blessed and grateful to the Tuilagi brothers for their love and support through monetary donations for our elderly residents here at Hope House.”
