Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — American Samoa will be celebrating its 125th Flag Day on April 17, 2025, at the Veteran’s Memorial Stadium. A full schedule of events for the day are still to be announced publicly, however a call for food vendors to register has gone out.
The venue is at the stadium and registration seems to be mainly directed to online: https://forms.gle/RwLJ4adbDZ2AKNWt6
A call to 699-1329/ 1330 can be made for more information about food vendor registrations.
Requirements include filling out the registration form, and having a current ASG Business License as well as a DOH Health Card.
The deadline for registration is this Friday, April 7th.
Samoa News will continue to update as more information comes available about the Flag Day Celebration, with much anticipation of a possible Flag Day Fautasi Race, especially with one new village — Pavai’a’i — entering the local long boat tradition this year.
Anticipated is which villages will actually enter the race, if there is one, as in the most recent race — the BlueSky July 4th Fautasi Race — saw one fautasi badly damaged during practice, and 4 fautasi disqualified for not following the rules during the race.
Discerned from current information available to media, Brigadier General Matney, Mobilization Assistant to the Deputy Commander of Pacific Air Force will be attending the Flag Day celebrations, while on island for a meeting with the Pula & Pulu Administration about military air logistics support.
