Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread on Tutuila island, reaching as far as Fagasa and Vatia — to the East Side, according to the Health Department’s report at 8p.m. on Feb. 25 and released late last night.
DoH reports that on Friday, Feb. 25, a total of 563 tests were conduct and nine individuals tested positive. Of the positive cases, six individuals were fully vaccinated, and 3 were not. “There were no reported hospitalizations or deaths,” said DoH, which is continuing to monitor these active COVID-19 cases.
According to the report, 80.3% of the total population is fully vaccinated to date.
With the new nine-positives, the DoH report states that the total confirm cases at 8p.m on Feb. 25 stands at 53.
And the 53 confirmed cases were identified in the following villages: one at Fagaalu; one in Fagasa, one at Fa’ilolo; one at Faleniu, six from Ili’ili; eleven in Leone; 16 from Nu’uuli; one at Pago Pago; one at Puapua; eleven in Tafuna; two in Vaitogi; and one in Vatia.
DoH reminds all that vaccination and testing drive-thru is set for today, Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Pago Pago International Airport parking lot from 8a.m. to 2p.m.
