Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is thanking teachers and highlighting National Teachers Appreciation Week coming up May 8, as well as American Samoa’s Teachers Appreciation Week happening this week — from May 1- May 5.

“Next week is National Teachers Appreciation Week, so it’s a great time to thank our hardworking teachers as we close out another school year! We appreciate them all year round, knowing how much they invest themselves in our young people. They give of their creativity and time for the future of their students.

“Being a teacher can certainly be a lot of hard work, but it can also be very rewarding and fulfilling. Most of us as adults can think back to a teacher we especially appreciate, who made a real difference in our lives. We will always count on much-needed government investment in our schools to ensure facilities and equipment that can help our teachers do their best work in sending our students into life well-prepared.”

Thank you, teachers!
