Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — On April 5, 2025, a distressed mother called the Fagatogo Police Station (FPS) to report her son who was allegedly causing a disturbance at their home.
The suspect was apprehended after resisting arrest and was later charged with Count 1: Resisting Arrest, a class A misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to one year, a fine of $1,000, or both.
The defendant’s bail was set at $1,000.
According to the court affidavit, on Apr. 5th, at about 9:48 p.m., a mother contacted FPS reporting her son (later identified as the suspect) who was allegedly disturbing the peace in their home while they were sleeping. Furthermore, she claimed that she advised the suspect to go somewhere else to consume his beers but he refused to leave.
Upon receiving the call, police officers responded to the call and upon arrival they had to walk uphill to where the residence is located. As the officers reached the residence, they observed a man sitting in front of the house playing music from a laptop. The officers greeted the man (suspect), whereas his mother opened the door and stated that it was her that called the police.
The mother requested police remove the suspect from their home. She stated that she and her husband were annoyed by the suspect” making unreasonable noises, shouting loudly and he doesn’t care about them (parents) anymore.”
The officers instructed the suspect to leave his parents’ house as requested. However, the suspect refused to do so and stated that the police officers have no right to tell him to leave. The officers immediately apprehended the suspect as he tried to resist arrest.
During the arrest, a strong odor of alcohol emitted from the suspect’s breath and he responded in a slurred speech when asked for his information.
Raymond Fa’aloua was booked and confined at the Tafuna Correctional Facility to await the next available sitting of the District Court.
The defendant is identified as a 40-year-old U.S National.
