Mauga and AG testify on Land and Titles bill

Pago Pago, AMEIRCAN SAMOA — Secretary of Samoan Affairs Mauga T. Asuega and Attorney General Falefatu Fainuulelei Alailima-Utu testified yesterday before a Senate committee on an administration bill.

The bill limits the amount of time that land and title disputes can be before the Office of Samoan Affairs without complying with the procedures provided in local law.

The law also gives the Secretary of Samoan Affairs the authority to make rules in land and matai title disputes.  The hearing continues today, Wednesday. Samoa News will report in a future edition on the outcome of the Senate hearing.
