Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — A man was rescued from perilous currents in Fa’ilolo by the Marine Patrol Division of the Department of Search and Rescue yesterday. This critical operation was carried out by a skilled team of four under the guidance of Chief Ina Ulberg.
Chief Ulberg told KVKZ TV News that the man had ventured into the turbulent waters to save his son, who had also become ensnared in the treacherous current. After a harrowing struggle, the son was successfully brought to safety on the shore. However, as the father attempted to navigate back to land, he was engulfed by the relentless waves, and this prompted the family to contact 911 to request emergency assistance.
Emergency Medical Services were stationed at the Marine Patrol Headquarters in Fagatogo, ready to provide immediate medical treatment and support to the rescued individual upon his arrival.
