Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — It is with deep sadness that her family announced the passing of beloved matriarch, Lusiana Mapuolesega Fau'olo of West Jordan, Utah. Surrounded by her cherished family, Lusiana peacefully departed this life on December 12, 2023.
She was born on December 18, 1929, to Agaolei'a Aumoeualogo from Amouli/ Aoa American Samoan and Kilisitina Afusia Mapuolsega from Sailele/ Aoa, American Samoa.
Lusiana is preceded in death by her beloved husband Reverend Tau'ili'ili Lemanu Fuifatu Tunu Fau'olo from Fusi, Safotulafai Savai'i, and her daughter, Tise Fau'olo. She is survived by her son, Fetai'a'imauso Franklin John Fau'olo (Sola 'Olive Fau'olo), and her c daughter, Salavaoalemasina Clara Fau'olo, along with her eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Lusiana's educational journey began at an all-girls school in Atauloma in American Samoa before she pursued and achieved her Associates of Arts degree at Honolulu Community College in Oahu, Hawaii.
She passionately applied her acquired skills and talents throughout her life, excelling in various Samoan crafts such as making titi, seis, silk screening, playing cricket and dancing. Her joyous spirit was ever-present, always radiating warmth and cheerfulness in everything she did.
A dedicated member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Lusiana lived by the principle of placing God first, a value she imparted to her family.
She exemplified a life of service, extending her love and care to the communities of Los Angeles, California, Pearl City, Hawaii, and West Valley City, Utah.
Her legacy of love, faith, and service will forever resonate within the hearts of all who knew her, but especially her great grandchildren.
