Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The LBJ board has made their choice for CEO after a search that was done by the “book,” according to a press release issued Monday from the hospital’s board of directors.
Moefa’auo William T, Emmsley, Jr. will now be LBJ hospital CEO for the next two years and the board stated that it was an unanimous decision.
Moefa’auo has been acting as CEO since mid-March when the board dismissed interim CEO, Emau Amosa.
The board highlighted what they think Moefa’auo will bring to the post —including “his abilities as a strong and empathetic leader, who has moved things quickly to their successful completion, in a brief period of time for the sake of ‘collective interest’ to the benefit LBJ employees.”
BACKGROUND
There were nine applications received and of that 9, one withdrew and one was disqualified for not following delivery protocols and instructions. Of the 7 that were screened, two failed to meet the minimum requirements as stipulated in the “ad”, but the Board granted them “courtesy interviews” nevertheless.
The remaining 5 were thoroughly evaluated, through lengthy interviews, the examination of records and files submitted by the applicants. After this review, the search narrowed down to two finalists and then Moefa’auo was selected.
