LBJ Board appoints Dr Aitofele Sunia as Acting CEO

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — A memo that the Chairman of the Hospital Authority Board, Mualeava Dr Aifili John Tufa sent to hospital staff, dated August 22, 2024, announces that Dr. Aitofele J. Sunia has been appointed as Acting CEO for LBJ Tropical Medical Center until further notice, according to talanei.com.

It expresses sincere appreciation to Dr. Sunia for accepting the position and asks that chiefs, directors, managers and staff of LBJ fully cooperate with his leadership during this transition period.

A reliable source told Samoa News that Dr. Akapusi Ledua’s contract as CEO was terminated early. It’s unknown if he continues to be a medical doctor at the hospital.
