July rainfall total breaks its own record

RAINFALL RECORD

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — As of July 26, 2025, total rainfall for the month of July had reached 21.05 inches at NWS Pago Pago. This breaks the record for total rainfall in the month of July, previously set at 19.59 inches in July of 1962.

This record-breaking total adds to a historic year for rainfall. So far this month, 129.95 inches of rainfall have been recorded during the year of 2025.

This is the highest rainfall total ever recorded through the month of July, and will likely further increase before the end of the month as widespread showers, heavy at times, remain in the forecast through Tuesday.
