Infrastructure improvements include long neglected baseball fields

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Gov. Lemanu P.S. Mauga during his State of the Territory Address Monday emphasized the admin’s commitment to infrastructure improvements and after years of neglect, improvements were made to the Little League Baseball Field (left) and Tony Solaita Baseball Field (right).

This provided a venue for coaches and pro/ college female athletes to host in Dec. 2023 the Softball Camp American Samoa.

The road into the area of the Solaita baseball field venue was also repaired and can now be easily accessed through to the Tafuna Elementary School — opening up this area to community access to fields on the left & right side of the road, which are used for baseball/ softball practice and games.
