Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Since the beginning of the new year has been diminishing with American Samoa’s sunrise now over 30 mins later than on January 1st.
American Samoa’s sunset is almost 40 mins earlier than January 1st.
There are 11hrs and 48 mins of daylight on April 13th as compared to 12hrs and 57 mins of daylight on January 1st.
FORECAST
A mid level high pressure system, currently to the southeast of American Samoa, was expected to move westward Sunday night. The high will bring in lower relative humidity from the south throughout the mid layers of the atmosphere. This will help reduce sky cover to partly cloudy. The slow moving weather pattern will retain partly cloudy skies through the middle of the upcoming week. Even though the persistent rain will rain well to the south. Indices show that there is a possibly of a passing shower through Thursday.
By midweek, global models show a high pressure system in the Coral Sea region and will strengthen as it moves eastward. This will help move the weakened trough to the south of American Samoa to move northward towards the territory for late in the week and the coming weekend. The chance of rain increase to numerous during this time. The high will also help to increase easterly tradewinds in the region to reach up to 20 mph.
