Governor reconstitutes Parks & Rec commission

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Through an Apr. 21st memorandum, Gov. Lemanu Peleti Palepoi Sialega Mauga reconstituted the Parks and Recreation Commission with the appointment of new members and their terms in office.

Members whose terms are 2-years are Victor Avalos, Saipai Cassens, and Sa Suluai, while members with 1-year terms are Erika Radewagen and Esekielu Foleni.

Powers and duties of the commission outlined in local laws include developing policies and programs for the administration, management and operation of the parks system and recreational activities.

Meanwhile, the governor, through an Apr. 23rd memo, appointed Tiana Trepanier as the Employee Member of the American Samoa Workmen’s Compensation Commission effective immediately. Trepanier will replace Aoomalo M. Turituri who has resigned.
